Canon EOS M3

Now I have owned this little beauty for a while and decided that it is worth a simple ”What do I think about it then”. I also gave it a stylish shoot on my kitchen table, I think it deserved it. Canon EOS M3, one of Canons first mirrorless compact DSLR and goes within the enthusiast category. Canon has the golden three categories of beginners, enthusiasts and professional. What I like about this little beauty: Small size Flip screen + flip built in flash Full manual possibilities and some creative settings and effects as built in fisheye mode Possible to use your other EOS system – lenses with the EOS – M mount adapter. You can see this on the pictures below (the first thing I ordered to the camera after buying it). After trying it out for some time now I must say that I like the camera a lot. It doesn´t have a built in ”eye” or viewfinder, something that is possible to buy extra, but I must say that I don´t mind after …

Canon 24-105 mm f.4 lens.

One of my best best buddies is my Canon 24-105 mm f/4 lens. When out traveling I use this as a standard. It is enough zoom to have a range of possibilities as landscape and portrait. It is a wide angle lens that always saves me when in crowded and places with wide angles and creates terrific scenes when shooting landscape. Shot almost all my photos from Norway this way. Shot these photos of the lens at the same time as when I shot the photos of my lens baby lens. Lensbaby Composer Pro Sweet 35

This weekend we had fantastic weather. I where out and about and shot some photos of my lenses in the sun. The Lensbaby lens was next to be portraid. I have had this lens since fall and have shot several photos with this little special effects lens, the only one I have. The Lensbaby lenses are special lenses that have selective focus, which means that you can turn/ or ”bend” the lens and focus on certain points in the picture, creating different effects depending on how much you turn and how much apperture you choose. The apperture is switched manually on the lens and the focus is only manual. The bigger the apperture (low f value), the greater effect. This lens works both for landscape and portraits but certainly is at its best when having one object to focus on. It is easy to handle and fairly easy to focus and ”bend”. A fun little, slightly expensive toy, for the summer camera bag. Katarina     Pics taken with the lensbaby:

Pancake Canon 40mm f2.8 lens

Time for an update on my equipment. My latest update on the equipment area was my review of my Sigma Art lens the 50mm in January. But I have much more lenses than that one, my collection have during Christmas sales hit the number of five after me buying the Pancake 40mm Canon lens. My proud collection: Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 pancake Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Canon 24-105 mm f/4L IS USM Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 ii Lensbaby Composer Pro Sweet 35 Why did I buy the Canon 40 mm? You who follow me might wonder why I bough this lens and the truth to be told, I didn´t buy it because of it´s quality I assure you. It was the size. Wonderful small and feather light weight, almost. Short Tech specs for the EF 40mm f/2.8 STM- The Canon is a versatile lens for portrait, travel and everyday life. It is possible to take photos as close as 30mm – lens- to object which is far closer than my other 50mm:s …

Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF- my review

During the fall I have updated my lens collection with one heavy new friend. The Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art lens. Since most of my readers are hobby photographers or just bloggers I find that there is an interest in the equipment I use and when I buy new stuff I always check out bloggers and their review of stuff, since the reviews given by non professionals feel more trustworthy to me than the reviews made by magazines, since they are live on payment through commercial. This is a non sponsered review that is only here for my readers who appreciate my opinion and are not an expert review of any kind. But, having that said. What is the Sigma 50mm Art lens then? When first announced to be released, the art series 50mm hit the roof in photo circles with articles like ”The new Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens should be crazy good”. I bought my Sigma Art lens in Paris during my vacation there in October. Somewhat not that smart maybe if …

My new friend – iPhone 6+

Newest in in the camerabag and handbag is my iPhone 6+. Well needed for my eyes with bad vision as well as an update for my camerabag due to the better camera functions. Will head out now for some shooting. Katarina     Trying it out the first time..   Canon 5D Mark iii Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art lens Lightroom (converting to black and white)

Fujifilm Instax mini 25 – a polaroid camera

In Paris I bought a new camera. Something different. A polaroid camera to be exact. How fun to play with! It is a easy to use little thing, just point and shoot really. The camera also have a selfie-mirror on the front which makes it easy to take a portrait of yourself. The film is a bit expensive, about 10 photos cost around 12-13 Euro, 15-20 dollars and around 100-200 sek. But on the other hand you get something that not so many others have to give to your friend on the trip or just keep yourself in the wallet. The photos are the size of a creditcard. You unpac the camera, unpac the film and put the film in the back, matching the yellow dot on the film to the yellow dot on the camera. You don´t need to do anything more than that and hit the power button on the back. You can shoot with or without flash and on the setting L (light), normal and D (Dark): I tried them all and …

the selfiestick.

My newest thing in my photobag, the selfiestick. How cool! From my friend Sofias instagram, me with my selfiestick on the ferry to Finland. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Fantasiresor | Reseblogg ⛵️ (@fantasiresor) What is it then? A selfie stick is basically what it says it is. It is a stick, with bluetooth and a trigger on where you can put your phone in the end of it and take photos of yourself on a longer distance. How odd. Well, you know the concept of Selfie don´t you? What was it now. Tons of tons of photos all over the web that people post of themselves. Found the definition (or the first one appearing on google) and it says ” selfie ˈsɛlfi/ noun informal a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website. ”occasional selfies are acceptable, but posting a new picture of yourself every day isn’t necessary.” ” The selfiestick allow you to take group selfies as well, which …

Water protection bag for the camera.

Bought a somewhat weird thing for my camera a while ago and have waited for the right weather before I could use it. It is a water protection bag for the camera. There is a photo of the bag on my instagram. It looks a bit weird, doesn´t it? Well, this weekend when my friends where here I tried it out in Torrvarpen, the lake next to the town where I live. I would say that it is probably better to by the original thing. This was a five dollar bag from a low price site, and well, the real deal is guaranteed better. First of all, it doesn´t really fit my cam and second, the photos come out a bit distorted. Well, on the beach you can of couse (as I did) use it for you advantage. But I had to go full auto (when closed not possible to change settings) and only my small lens that doesn´t work great on auto fit in the bag so there you have my problem. But, I will certainly …

A camerabag on the beach.

Yes I know, there has been a lot of camerabag post lately. This is because I bought three new camerabags at the same time. Now the last one have arrived and here it is. This is my absolute favorite. A very stable model that stands for itself even though there is nothing in it. Today it got to accompany me to the beach for a beach shoot. I bough it on aliexpress.com, a chinese low price website that has about everything. It has all the expensive original camera models as lowepro and national geographic series (to a lower price, at least for Swedes) as well as these vintage, no brand, models that is more of an accessory bag than a traditional camerabag. Katarina Canon 5D Mark iii, 24-105 mm Canon lens, lightroom. Photos taken by the lake Torrvarpen, Grythyttan.

the camera.

I rearranged among my posts and decided that my equipment deserved it´s own category. Before it was found in a fixed page but that leaved little or no space for me writing about the equipment I so dearly love. I decided to go for own posts making it easier following when I buy and play with something new. Well, my camera deserves it´s own post of course. I had it for a while now (since January) so it deserve some talky talk about the good and the bad. Canon 5D Mark iii As everybody who follow me know I have a Canon 5D Mark iii. That is a long and well deserved name. I haven´t looked up why they are called Mark iii, maybe someone knowledgeable in cameras could fill this gap. When buying it I was choosing among the 5D Mark iii and the 6D of the Canon cameras. I have no knowledge and have barely tried out the Nikon cameras or other brands so there is nothing saying that my camera is better then …

Red hot camerabag.

Another new camerabag. I bought this one at the same time as the last one and this one costed around 27 dollars at aliexpress.com. My camera, keys, wallet etc fits in there with the 50 mm lens on, as long as I remove the extra camera padding. What do you think? Can give you a extra photo tips and that is based on the last picture of me taken by my boyf. It is the photo of my back walking. I look extremely short in this picture (and I´m 178cm tall). It is preferable to be photographed by someone shorter, or that the photographer shoot from a lower angle or else you will look shorter (than necessary) and also chubbier. No problem if you are super-skinny and an amazon woman, but for the rest of us out there, get the photographer to cooperate and make the best of the situation. New camera equipment- A vintagelooking camera bag.

Bought some new camera equipment on aliexpress.com after getting back from Lima. For you who deosn´t know, Aliexpress is a good place to look into for weird and cheap stuff. Since I was a broke student some weeks ago (still is) it was a good alternative to buy camera equipment that otherwise, I am sad to say, is very expensive in Sweden. This vintage looking camera bag arrived during the week and I´m waiting for some other equipment to come soon. This bag doesn´t look very big but both my work lap top fits into it along with my Canon 5D Mark iii, as well as one lens. There is also two side pockets and one on the back where I keep my phones as well have easy access to my wallet. I have decided to carry my 50mm (cheap) Canon lens with me to work and wherever I go so I can take all these spontaneous photos that I love to take.. 🙂 During my three months in Lima, I carried around everything in …
