One day full of adventures.

Today I had the most exiting day. In the morning me and Martin and me took the bus to San Isidro to meet up with two environmental journalist, Elie Gardner and Oscar Durand, both with webpages in their name, for an interview for my final project of my studies. I was planning for one hour at the most, but good company made it into 3 hours! So much interesting to talk about and so much stuff for my thesis! Warm and beaten by all interesting talk me and Martin decided for a walk to the nearest restaurant and found 100% recycled sofas on the way. So fun. Of course it was necessary with a photo or two. 10 things to do in Lima- Post 3- Ceviche

The Ceviche will probably take my life. It is Lemon/Lime and Chili (Rocoto) madness, all the ingredients for something superb. Just look at it. Well back to business, the Times list recommend La Mar, the Astrid u Gaston restaurant for Ceviche where we already went and where the above pic is from. Here it is also possible to by a book or two about the Peruvian cuisine or Ceviche. Ceviche is 8th on the Time- list and you can read about it here. The funny thing about the photo they use is that I have been in Lima for almost two months now and NEVER seen Ceviche that look like that. I might ask someone where to find it. Glad Påsk- Happy easter everybody!

  This is my second time I´m celebrating easter out of Sweden. I have also celebrated it in Greece with my relatives before. In Greece we visited neighbours and grilled a whole lamb in the garden, that is about as much I can remember. This was in 2008. In Peru I´ve learned some more. Thursday me, Elia and Robert went to the museum of gold in Lima. That was crazy, but photos weren´t allowed. Going how we passed plaza de armas, with the though of looking on some artisans and having a bite to eat. This was what we call Skärtorsdagen in Sweden, Jueves Santo in Spanishs and in English it is the Maundy Thursday. A pitcure says more than a thousand words, yes, but in this case it displays thousands of people in Lima, following the tradition this day of visiting six churches making it impossible for us to enter the center. 10 things to do in Lima- Post 2- El Malecón, Miraflores

As you who follow me know, I have hanged around quite a bit in Miraflores and you may have also seen a lot of photos of a beach from up above and fantastic views over the city. This is basically what El Malecón is. A giant photo-opportunity. Basic knowledge It is a 6 mile stretch of green spaces, gardens and parks, where the best thing you can do is kiss your partner in the Parque de la Amor and watch the fantastic view. The Time list of course suggest other stuff to do as jogging, nothing I would ever do even if they payed me. A good idea that Time do point out is the possibility to rent a bike for a day. Something I haven´t done, but something smart since the stretch is so long. Those akin legs of a traveler needs som rest to. If you are not so in to bikes, maybe you like skating? 1. Before going out this Monday me and Martin wanted to do some touristy stuff. Thats when we googled the amazing words ”10 things to do in Lima”. We ended up with the Time list where Time listed this exactly.  The list  is found here. I have been in Lima for a while and decided after reading it, to write a post about what to do, since the different stuff listed by time, isn´t all that hot. I must say I am honored. Seven people answered the poll (or less people gave seven answers). Yey! Great success for my part who was worrying that no one would answer. And even more gladly I got a lot of ideas from this. You seem to like history/culture and food, but are not interested in where to make the best buys if I interpret this poll correctly. This post is in Swedish- I´m thinking of switching to English since it takes to much time to write in both languages, but haven´t decided yet. I have almost more international readers, why the thought is legit. Som jag sa igår/förrgår, dags för ett lååångt inlägg med mycket foton om min dag med Martin och hans kockollegor. Vi börjar där vi slutatade, i trappan. Häng med! Första stopp var Metropolitano till Miraflores där vi skulle möta upp Alejandro och Nazareno. Martin har klippt sig och det var välbehövt. Vi gjorde ett snabbt stopp på McDonalds och köpte lite pommes och glass, i väntan på herrarna. Sedan gick vi till en park i Miraflores där jag varit förut men som jag tyvärr inte minns namnet på. Jag tror den heter Parque de 7 Junio (Sjunde juni parken, löst översatt). Där åt vi vår glass och pommes och tittade på folk som bara två lustiga svenskar kan. Answer the poll down below. I´ve decided to focus more on travel on the blog since I travel a lot and are planing to travel to both Gotland (a Swedish island in the Baltic sea) and to the music festival Way out West in Gothenburg (Swedens second biggest city) during the summer. I might also travel during the fall. Even if this is not yet planned I made contact with the bloggers granntanter.se, a Swedish fashion and style blog by two ladies who knows what they are talking about. They are planing a trip to Paris this fall which me and my mother might go on if the dates are possible for us. I really hope so since Paris is my dream ! Hecho en Peru- Made in Peru

Nyaste tillskottet på shoppinghimlen a la Peru är Peruansk tillverkade skor (de bruna). Jag har bara två par gympaskor med mig i packningsutrymmessyfte varpå jag och Elia var på Plaza Norte, köpcentret nästgårds, för en shoppingspree ikväll (högst nödvändig jag lovar.) På en Eccoaffär fick jag tag i de mestaste bästa skorna jag någonsin testat. De bruna skornas ovandel är tillverkade i Peru och sulorna är från Italien. Vilken kvalité och vilket pris! Kostade runt 450 kr. Ett par svensktillverkade skor med italiensk sula i Sverige, vad hade det kostat? 4000? När jag kom hem passade jag på att använda Elias trappa för att fota mina nya inköp som också bestod av ett rejält bekväma svarta skor och ett par mjukisbyxor för 18 sol (1 sol är ungefär 2,3 svenska kronor). Så ett shoppingtips för alla som är på resande fot och befinner sig i Peru är att titta efter ”Hecho en Peru” på den vanliga klädlappen. Lima- the city of love? photos from Larcomar- Miraflores

Igår gick jag och Elia till Larcomar efter att först varit på en fotoutställning i Miraflores Lima. På Larcomar finns mycket trevliga butiker och jag hittade en ny favorit i Menthe & Chocolate, en Peruansk butik med peruanska kläder, i stil med HM eller liknande, med enda skillnaden att kläderna faktiskt tillverkas i Peru. Känns så otroligt trevligt att läsa på varje plagg och se Hecho en Peru. Det är en särskild känsla man nästan aldrig får uppleva i Sverige. Bara när det kommer till second hand kläder som tillverkats på 70-talet eller tidigare. Det blev tre nya partyplagg på MCH och det finns ett foto på min Instagram. När man är ute och rör sig i stadsmiljö finns det mycket underhållande skyltar. Kunde inte låta bli att ta foto på denna. Typ ”men at work”. Jag skulle vilja se den i Sverige.. När det kommer till Design har det ju blivit allt viktigare överallt att man får bestämma själv, när det kommer till det mesta och att designa den själv, känns som ett allt …

The restaurant La Mar

Yesterday we wen´t to the restaurant La Mar in Miraflores (another of Gastons restaurants) with Martin chef friends Ruben, José Luis and Monica. Fabulous food. Amazing. The best. And that is an understatement. I also bought a book, one of Gastons book about streetfood in Peru, aka the normal food. Igår vad jag, Elia och hennes amigas på afternoon tea på ambitiösa Marriott hotell i Lima. Det var lyxigt och det var mycket! Hade inte med mig den stora kanonen, som pappa kallar den, men min lite mindre bärbara Samsung, vilket såklart påverkar bildkvalitén. Vi åt små Sandwichar, kallskuret, mini-napoleon bakelser, crepes, våfflor, cheesecake och drack cocktails. Min mage sprängdes nästan ett tag. Som tur hade jag bälte som räddade jeansens knappar från att flyga. 😉 Samsung NX 10, fast 16mm objektiv och redigering i Lightroom. Den fantastiska foajen. Den myyyyycket avlägsna selfien.. Jag posar i det nyaste klädesplagget jag hade innan jag åkta till Peru, en quiltad jacka av dansk design med mycket mönster. Den köpte jag i december och älskar den fullkomligt. Visas tillsammans med mina gröna bästa vänner, Conversen. I Lima är dessa skor lite billigare så ska passa på att ta med mig några hem för sommaren.

Denna vecka är Perus modevecka. Ett event bara personer som är inbjudna kan gå på. Jag får vackert kolla på bilder från veckan på El Comercio eller någon modebloggerska som har äran att gå på eventet. Har blivit lite fashinerad av det Peruanska modet mer och mer men kan ännu inte riktigt definiera vad som skiljer sig från det svenska. Kanske något så enkelt som att man inte har så mycket vinterkläder i kollektionerna, men har även sett en del av detta för Peru är ju ett land med mikroklimat, dvs, olika temperaturer runt om i landet vid samma tidpunkt. Det låter inte så särskilt speciellt, men det kan mer eller mindre vara vinter och sommar på samma dag, beroende på vart man befinner sig i landet. En modebloggerska jag läser lite av då och då är Carla Chavez Lino som skriver blogg för el Comercio, vilken jag liknar med Dagens Nyheter, den enda liknelsen jag kan ge utan att ha gjort en riktig jämförelse. Det är den dyra tidningen, om vi säger så. Elia …
