Hotel Rheingold – cute cats, big windows and a cool bar

The small old hotels are generally those who holds the biggest heart. When Martin choose the hotel for us when going to Berlin my first thought was that it looks fresh but has no own bathroom, and I like my own bathroom. So we continued to look and found hotel Rheingold. With varying reviews it didn’t look that cool to begin with, typical Berliner was one thought about the hotel, but since it was cheap and we got our own bathroom we went for this hotel anyway. The bathroom was fairly newly renovated, not by any means high standard but sufficient. And was it typical Berliner? Oh yes it was! but is that such a bad thing?  For typical Berliner I give you a old early 20 th century house with 4 m to the ceiling rooms with double doors that didn’t even fit into my 40 mm lens. The shot of Martin standing by the door is a shot of him looking out on our own balcony, like a boudoir dream.  The restaurant or …

Hotel Eldorado – Paris

When booking our stay we checked out more than one alternative. Our choice fell on Hotel Eldorado on the street Rue de Dames due to the easy reason that it was chic and less expensive then hotels in the city center. My mother found this hotel on the blog granntanter.se, whom we also where traveling with for three of our six days stay.   Location 18 Rue de Dames 750 17 Paris Homepage Within walking distance from the subway/bus/square Place de Clichy How We booked our stay through the site booking.com. It is probably possible just calling the hotel and book. The receptionists speak English (at least all we met during our six nights stay). Appearence/ service The hotel deserves the word pitoresque cause that is what it is. I have never seen anything more French/ Moulin Rouche without bad lighting/ Montmartre – feeling in my life. It is a variety of asian/african and french stuff. The reception seen in the picture, held fresh flowers, a brown reception desk as well as a BIG old …

These days I am only focusing on my master thesis, that is why I sometimes just lingers on photos, and wish I had some spare time to go out and take some more fantastic photos. Iso 640, f 7,1, and a shutterspead of 1/100.  What is your opinion? Katarina

The hotel was close to plaza de armas in Ica Peru, costed 40 sol for 2 persons (93sek, 14 dollar or 10 euro) and had both shower, comfortable bed, wi-fi and gave us 2 soaps which we now brought to the new hotel in Huacca China, the oasis outside Ica.   Martin walking the empty streets of Ica, 6 o clock On the way we bought some fruit. (Sunday morning) Staying to eat at a blue restaurant returning from Nazca- photos where taken with my DSLR so will post some during the week. The blue restaurant is in Ica, and probably have a name of which I am not familiar with. This is the oasis Huacca China sprung from the legend of a crying princess. Today a backpacker miniparadise where you can eat, sleep, sunbade, swim, climb the …
